Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This page explains what data TestHeadphones.Com collects, why, and what happens to it. In short: the headphone test runs entirely in your browser, we never record audio, and we store information only when you choose to publish a review or a comment, or when you write to us.
The test runs on your device
All test tones are generated and played by your browser. Nothing is uploaded while you test, and no sound is ever recorded: the test only plays audio, it does not listen.
The browser may ask for microphone permission. This is a browser restriction: without it, the list of audio output devices is hidden. We use the permission only to show that list. If you refuse, the test still works with the default output device.
The results shown on the page stay in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the page, unless you publish a review.
Reviews
When you submit a review, we publish it on a page of its own: the name you entered, the headphone and device names, your rating, your text and the test results. We also store technical details about your device, such as screen resolution, operating system and browser, and your IP address, which is never displayed.
Reviews are public and may be indexed by search engines. Do not include personal information in the text. To correct or delete a review, send us its number or link through the Contact page.
Comments
Comments are public as well and are stored with the name you entered, the text, your IP address and your browser. The same rules for correction and deletion apply.
Contact form and email
When you write to us, we receive your name, email address, subject and message, plus your IP address and browser, so that we can answer and deal with abuse. We use these data only to reply and keep them as long as the conversation requires.
Cookies
The site sets one session cookie, needed for the forms to work. It contains no personal data and expires when you close the browser.
Google AdSense. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info/choices.
Google Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: pages visited, browser, country, approximate screen size. The data are aggregated and do not identify you. You can block it with the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or with any content blocker.
Cloudflare. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which may set a cookie for security purposes and processes IP addresses to filter attacks.
Server logs
Like every website, our servers record each request: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and referring page. We use the logs to keep the site running, to detect abuse and for anonymous statistics. They are rotated automatically.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has published a review or a comment, contact us and we will remove it.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to its use. If you are in the European Union, these rights are guaranteed by the GDPR and you can also complain to your data protection authority. To exercise them, write to us through the Contact page or at info@testheadphones.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page when the site or the law changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the home page.
